190 Descendants Survive

The death of Mrs. George (Mary Catherine) Ralston, 96, occurred in Waukon Tuesday, August 10, following a five year illness. She was one of the oldest residents of Allamakee Co.

Mary Catherine Douglas was born July 27, 1869, in Ludlow township and was a daughter of David and Adeline Ewing Douglas. She was educated in the local schools and December 14, 1892 married George Ralston in Waukon. He preceded her in death in 1953.

Survivors are three sons, Earl John Ralston, Waukon; John Douglas Ralston, LaHabra, Calif.; and David George Ralston, Hawthorne, Calif., and six daughters, Mrs. Ruth Bell Johnson, Waukon; Mrs. Otto (Jessie Agnes) Stocker, Visalia, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Marie) Tomilson, Baldwin Park, Calif.; Mrs. Lawrence (Florence) Brandos, Junction City, Ore.; Mrs. Charles (Eugenia) Sass, Whittier, Calif.; and Mrs. Ed (Doris) Wedo, Waukon. Forty nine grandchildren, 122 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Anna Welch, of McGregor and Mrs. Jessie Adams of Waukon also survive.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. at Martin funeral home with the Rev. D. D. Kauffman officiating with interment in Oakland cemetery.
