Operation Fatal To Church Farmer

J. W. Aldrich Dies Friday In Decorah Hospital At 4:00 Friday morning, October 23. He had been in failing health the past few months and had recently undergone an operation, his last illness being of two weeks duration.

The dead man was a native of Lafayette township, being born May 5, 1876. He received his early education at Village Creek.

Mr. Aldrich was married 30 years ago to Miss C. Constance Ericson, and they had made their home on a farm in this county since their marriage. To this union eight children were born, all of whom are living.

He leaves to mourn, his wife and children, namely; Alvin A. of Lansing township; Lemuel L. of Fergus Falls, Minn.; Delbert D. of Lansing township; Richard R. of Washington, D. C.; Isadore of Waukon; Charlotte C., Hillard H. and Sidney S. at home, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Ernest Gurchner, Plankton, South Dakota; Mrs. C. O. Colbornson, Lansing; Mrs. Richard Ericson and Mrs. Joe Johnson of Center Township; Charles Aldrich, Lansing, township; and Mrs. Wm. Height of Nora Springs.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00
o'clock at the Swedish Baptist church, Center Township, and the burial was made in the Baptist cemetery, Rev. Lindblom being in charge of the services.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Lemuel L. Aldrich of Fergus Falls, Minn.; Mrs. Jay Bishop, Cerro Gordo county; Mrs. Will Height of Nora Springs; Bernard Speisman, Mrs. Ernest Gurchner and Mrs. Geo. Speisman and daughter of Plankton, South Dakota.
