Mrs. Dora Cooper Passes On Friday

Heart Attack is Fatal to Lansing Woman Born Jan. 29, 1871, In Lansing

Mrs. Douglas Cooper passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Peck of Waukon. She had been ailing for a long period with heart trouble. She was 66 years old last month.

Dora Elizabeth Ferris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Ferris, was born at Lansing on January 29, 1871. She was married to Douglas Cooper at Lansing March 20, 1888. Five children were born to this union, one daughter passing away in infancy.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Mrs. R. N. Peck of Waukon, Ferris of Chicago, and Herbert and Wallis of Dubuque.

She also is survived by her aged father and four brothers and two sisters, W. W. Ferris of Los Angeles, California; A. G. Ferris of Cherokee; F. C. Ferris of Ft. Dodge; J. L. Ferris of Dubuque, Mrs. D. J. Goodman of Columbus, Ohio and Mrs. Harriett Hoffman of Spencer. Two sisters preceded her in death. Four Grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Presbyterian, now the Federated church in Lansing. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Peck at Waukon and at 2 o'clock from the Federated church in Lansing.

Reverend Alfred C. Crouch, pastor of the Presbyterian church in Waukon, was in charge of the services. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the funeral were all of her children, one sister, Mrs. Harriett Hoffman of Spencer, and one brother, F. C. Ferris of Fort Dodge and Archie Lochner.
