Will Goetz, aged 20, died at his home in Waukon Saturday of consumption. The remains were taken to Guttenberg for burial.

DIED- At the residence of his father, in Waukon, Oct. 19, 1895, of
consumption, William Goetz, aged 18 years, 7 months and 21 days.

He was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, and came with his father to Waukon about six
years ago. He was an active, intelligent, excellent young man; highly and best
esteemed by those who best knew him. Two years ago he went to Clayton and took
full charge of the lumber yard and performed the duties well till a few months
ago he went to Dakota on account of consumptive tendency, but declining
gradually he returned home to Waukon about two months ago, and since life
gradually faded away. He died in the full assurance of a blessed immortality.
The funeral services were held at the house Monday morning, conducted by Rev.
S. R. Ferguson assisted by Rev. R. L. VanNice. The remains were taken to
Guttenberg for interment.- Waukon Democrat.

Deceased was a nephew of our townsman, Geo. W. Goetz. The Modern Woodman of
Clayton and Guttenberg took charge of the burial service according to their
beautiful and impressive ceremony.
