Rites Held for Doris Swenson
Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at the Schutte Chapel in Postville for Miss Doris Swenson, a former local resident, who had made her home in Cedar Rapids for the past 28 years. Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Community Presbyterian church, conducted the rites. Burial was in Minert Cemetery. Miss Swenson had but recently returned to Cedar Rapids having spent some time at her parents home near Postville following a serious operation undergone at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids some weeks ago. Doris Ellen Swenson, a Cedar Rapids resident for 28 years, and secretary for Dr. C.F. Houser there, died at her home at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday following a long illness. She was born December 14, 1901 near Postville. Surviving are her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swenson; one sister, Mrs. Elrie Ruckdaschel, all of Postville; three brothers, Hall Swenson of Postville, Roland Swenson of Chicago and George Swenson of Cedar Rapids.

Doris E. Swenson

Doris Ellen Swenson, 1225 Third avenue SE, a Cedar Rapids resident for 28 years, and secretary for Dr. C. T. Hauser, died at her home at 5 a.m. Wednesday following a long illness. She was born Dec. 14, 1901, at Postville.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swenson, one sister, Mrs. Elrie Ruckdaschel, all of Postville, three brothers, Hall Swenson of Postville, Roland Swenson of Chicago and George Swenson of Cedar Rapids.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

The body was taken from the Turner chapel to the Schutte funeral home at Postville. Services will be help in Postville at a time to be announced later.
