Donald Calvin Beardmore, 83, of Beloit, Wisconsin, died Monday March 10, 2008, at Premier Health and Rehab.

He was born in New Albin, Iowa, the son of Stanley C. and Maxine (Gantenbein) Beardmore. Donald married the former Dorothy M. Albrechtson on June 5, 1948, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He received his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. Donald was a teacher and principal, retiring in 1983. He taught at Lancaster, Wisconsin, schools. He was a principal in Gays Mills, Wisconsin, at Waterford Union High School in Waterford, Wisconsin, and at Turner High School in Beloit.

Donald is servived by his three sons, James S. Beardmore of Beloit; Gregory (Mary) Beardmore of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Douglas (Cindy) Beardmore of Janesville; four grandchildren, Daniel and Katharine of Green Bay; Elizabeth and Michael of Janesville; a brother, Robert (Barbara) Beardmore of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and wife, Dorothy, in 1990.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, at Rosman Uehling Kinzer Funeral Home in Beloit, with the Rev. Ian A. Stirrat officiating. Burial will be in Pinnacle Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
