Cherry Mound, Mar 5, '98
On last Sunday morning the neighbors were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Thomas COSGROVE. She was ready to start for church and stepped into the bedroom for something and fell in a swoon and never regained consciousnesness and died in a short time. She was one of Cherry Mound's pioneer settlers having resided here over 40 years. She leaves an aged husband and four daughters to mourn her loss, Mrs. George EGGLESTON of Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Pat CASSIDY of McGregor, Mrs. Jacob UNTERBERGER and Mrs. Charles McGOUGH of Cherry Mound. She will be missed from her community as she was a good neighbor and a kind old lady. The funeral was held March 1st at Cherry Mound, requiem mass being offered for the repose of her soul by Rev MALONY, and her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near by. The family have the sympathy of the entire neighborhood in their sad bereavment.
