Elfriede Sieg, daughter Ludwig and Hermine (Neubauer) Ziener, was born June 12, 1919, at Ludwigsstadt, Germany. She passed away at her home in Postville, Iowa, on February 6, 1997, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 24 days.

On March 5, 1950, she was married to Bernard Sieg at Ludwigsstadt, Germany. To this union four children were born. Elfriede and Bernard operated the "Stadium Cafe" in Monona for many years.

Elfriede was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bernard, and a sister Erika.

She is survived by her three sons, Gordon and his wife Sandra of Bettendorf, Iowa; and Roger and Dennis both of Postville; a daughter Rose Marie and her husband Dan Schober of Apple Valley, Minnesota; and five grandsons, Gregory, Alex and Erik Sieg, and Nicholas and Tyler Schober. She is also survived by a brother, Helmut Ziener of Ludwigsstadt, Germany; and a sister, Lilly and her husband Josef Wolf of Kronach, Germany.
