Ray and his family moved to Worthington, MN, where he was the Assistant Head of Procurement until 1978 when he became the Head of Hog Buying, until Swift and Co. purchased the company and Ray was then made the assistant Hog buyer again. Because of health reasons, he was a road buyer until his early disability retirement in 1991. Ray and his wife, Tildy, moved to Pelican Rapids, MN, in December 2002. He was presented into the "Honorary Swine Honor Roll" by the Minnesota Pork Producers for his dedicated service to the Swine Industry. The American Meat Institute honored him for his 31 years of dedicated service to the meat industry.
