Dr. Roger Wonderlich

Dr. Roger Wonderlich, age 56, of Shelbyville, KY died Monday, October 15, 2007 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY. He was born August 13, 1951 in Fairfield to Robert and Norma Gene (Brolliar) Wonderlich.

Roger is a 1976 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University in Ames. He was active in such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, Christian Veterinary Mission, Shelby County Cattleman's Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, and Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was also a member of Southland Christian Church of Lexington, KY.

August 14, 1971 he married Janet Vanderlinden. He was a practicing veterinarian and partner at the Shelby Veterinary Clinic.

Survivors include his father, Robert Wonderlich of Sigourney; his wife, Janet of Shelbyville, KY; his children, Ryan Wonderlich of Auburn, AL, Kortney Ryan of Shelbyville, KY, and Grant Wonderlich of Cedar Falls; and his brothers, Dr. Arlen Wonderlich, Chris Wonderlich and Rob Wonderlich. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Gene Wonderlich.

12/1/2007: The Allamakee Co. connection wasn't apparent in this obituary, but because it appeared in the Waukon paper, there most certainly is a connection. "I am the aunt of Roger Wonderlich. His tie to Allamakee County - He was for a short time associated with his brother, Dr. Arlen Wonerlich, in a Veternarian Clinic in Waukon. His brother, Chris Wonderlich is a dairy farmer in Allamakee County. His mother was my sister, and my husband was his father's twin brother."
