Edna Donovan

Edna Donovan, age 90, of New Albin died Thursday afternoon, May 17, 2007 at her residence in New Albin. Funeral services were held Monday, May 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Albin with Fr. Daniel Knipper officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Albin.

Edna was born in Bellevue January 20, 1917 to John and Bertha (Yaeger) Monner. She grew up in Bellevue and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Bellevue. She married Herbert Donovan September 15, 1936 at Winona, MN. She worked as a clerk at the Hartley IGA for many years. Edna enjoyed gardening, quilting, rug weaving, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by six children, Mona Eggen (friend Ed) of Beloit, WI, Sandy Osler of Decorah, Pat (Joan) Donovan of Beloit, WI, Barbara Donovan of LaCrosse, WI, Mike Donovan (friend Pat) of Green Bay, WI, and David (Mariette) Donovan of Eau Claire, WI; four daughters-in-law, Mary Ann Donovan, Cheryl Donovan, Darla Donovan, and Ida Donovan, all of Beloit, WI; 18 grandchildren, Joni, Mark, Kyle, Cory, Colin, Adam, Terry, Mary Kate, Shelly, Sue, Sherry, Paul, Matt, Phil, Jennifer, Jason, Jeff and Chris; 15 great grandchildren; and one sister, Marcella Roe of Dubuque.

Edna was preceded in death by her husband Herbert in 1975; her parents; six sons, Dale, Roger, Jim, Larry, Gene and Ken Donovan; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Dan, Tom and Patti; three sons-in-law, Frank Hammel, Dale Eggen and Virgil Osler; and five siblings.
