Virgil Reetz

Virgil Nyle Reetz, 69, of Waterloo died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Iowa City Hospitals & Clinics of complications from a stroke. Services were held Saturday, May 12 at Center Baptist Church with burial in Center Baptist Cemetery, both of Lansing.

Virgil was born March 26, 1938 in Waukon, the son of H. Dale and Minnie Ericson Reetz. He married Violet J. Gilbertson August 26, 1959 in Waukon. Virgil graduated from Waukon High School and worked at Calhoun Creamery, Churchtown, and then Waukon Creamery, Waukon. He and Vi moved to Waterloo, where he owned and operated Nyle's Water Service for 35 years. He served as past-president for the Waterloo Noon Exchange Club.

Survivors include: his wife; one brother, Neal (Sharon) of Charles City; two aunts, Thelma Reetz of Waukon and Elma Reetz of Dubuque; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother.
