WILLARD "Willie" McGEOUGH

Willie McGeough, age 14, of Willard, Missouri, passed away Wed., Aug. 8, 2001, at 12:30 a.m. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Willie was born in Springfield, Missouri, and was a lifelong resident of the Willard and Morrisville area. He was to be a member of the freshman class this fall at Marion C. Early High School, Morrisville, Missouri.

Willie attended the Rose Hill Baptist Church and had been active in Cub and Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his parents, Larry and Lisa McGeough of Willard, Missouri; (Larry McGeough was formerly of Waterville, Iowa), one sister, Amy Herman of Springfield; a half-sister, Amanda McGeough of Willard; maternal grandparents, Art and Lucy Sayers of Willard; paternal grandmother, Mrs. John Donahue of Waterville; and paternal great-grandmother, Gretta Mae Cahalan of East Moline, Illinois.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Sat., Aug. 11, in Rose Hill Baptist Church, north of Willard, with the Reverend Dusty Dowell officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Brim-Daniel Funeral Home of Walnut Grove, Missouri.

His tombstone shows his name as William Thomas “Willie” McGeough.

He was born on November 24, 1986 in Springfield, Missouri

He is buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Willard, Greene County, Missouri.

He was the son of Lawrence “Larry” and Lisa (Sayers) McGeough.

His grandparents were Allamakee County residents LeRoy Vincent McGeough (1929-1990) and Janice LeRhea (Cahalan) McGeough Donahue (1937-2016).
