Lucille E. Wagner, 81, of McGregor, formerly of Waukon, died Fri., June 8, 2001, at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, WI, following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Tues., June 12, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon with the Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon.
Lucille Evelyn Miller Wagner was born March 20, 1920 in Clermont. Her parents were Louis and Grace (Mount) Miller. She attended the Clermont area schools. Lucille married Harvey Emil Wagner at the First Baptist Church in Waukon. Together they farmed for over 30 years in Allamakee County. In 1965 they moved to Marquette and in 1973 to Waukon. Since 1994, Lucille has been a resident of Great River Care Center in McGregor. She enjoyed raising flowers, reading, playing cards, and country music. Since being at the care center she has enjoyed playing bingo. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; her son, Harlan Wagner; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Cooper.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Elton) Thornton of McGregor and Arlene (Harold) Welch of Waukon; one son, James (Nancy) Wagner of Wauzeka, WI; 19 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Dee of Cedar Rapids.
Honorary casketbearers were Kimberly, Marcia and Juanite Wagner; Kelly Groom, Barb Burr, Deb Trautsch, Tina Davis, Tammy Cooper, Diana Rask, and Dawn Clark.
Casketbearers were James, Jr., Kris, Robert and Garry Wagner; Randy, Terry, Gary and Robert Thornton and Mark Davis.
