James "Doc" Corrigan

James "Doc" Leo Corrigan, 68, of Cedar Rapids died Monday, April 9, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness. Services were held Friday, April 13 at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids, with Rev. Susan Detweiler officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

James was born November 27, 1938 in Harpers Ferry, the son of James and Rose McCormick Corrigan. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army. He married Deanna Landers-Lewis April 27, 1974 in Rock Island, IL. James worked at Ralston Foods for 38 years, retiring in 2004.

His joys in life were hunting, fishing, camping, playing the guitar and singing. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and had fun playing with his cat, Skeeter. He loved being a grandpa and spending time with his grandkids. He was dearly loved and will be missed.

James is survived by his wife Deanna; two sons, Jon (Jennifer) Lewis of Cedar Rapids and James Lewis of Lone Tree; three grandsons, Cody, Joshua and Alexander Lewis of Cedar Rapids; nine brothers, Charles (Eleanor), Mark (Fern), John (Lois), Bob (Peg), and Dick (Elaine), all of Cedar Rapids, Mike of Lake City, MN, Cyril (Jean) of Decorah, Jerry of Dubuque and Pat of Decorah; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents and a brother Wayne preceded James in death.
