Gerald (Jerry) Farley, 67, of Lansing was taken home to be with his loving Father early Easter Sunday morning, April 8, 2007. After a long illness, he passed away at home with his family by his side.

A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at The Immaculate Conception Church in Lansing. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Gethsemane Cemetery of Lansing.

Jerry was born November 17, 1939 in Harpers Ferry. There he farmed with his family and attended school in the Wexford and Harpers Ferry area. Upon graduation from Harpers Ferry High, he joined the Air Force and soon left the Iowa area. He was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, CA, where he met his soon to be wife.

December 14, 1963 he married Beverly Hunter in a ceremony held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Santa Maria, CA. Here is where they raised their family of six.

In 2001 Jerry retired from Vandenberg Air Force base in Lompoc, where he had worked as a Systems Analyst for ITT Industries for 36 years. In 2002 he fulfilled his dream of returning to his hometown area of Lansing with Beverly, where they enjoyed his many relatives and friends in his final years. They are members of the Immaculate Conception Church of Lansing, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick until he himself fell ill.

Watching football games, old westerns and game shows on television were a few of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed and looked forward to the many visits from his children and grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Beverly, and their six children, Tamela (Farley) Thompson and her husband Tracy of Santa Maria, CA, Dawn (Farley) Domingues of Lansing, Melody (Hunter) Newman and her husband Randy of Pearland, TX, Lynn (Hunter) Ennes and her husband Frank of Concord, CA, William Hunter and his wife Doris of Santa Maria, CA, and Craig Hunter of Santa Maria, CA.
