Mildred Wilkins

Mildred Wilkins, 87, of Harpers Ferry, died Jan. 14 at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church, McGregor with Pastor Jim Rozendaal officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery (rural Waukon). Martin's Funeral Home, Waukon, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born August 22, 1903 in Linton Township, Allamakee County on her parents' farm. Her parents were John Campbell and Lottie Decker Campbell. She attended rural schools at Bigfoot and "16" in Allamakee County.

February 20, 1923 she married Edward Lee Wilkins in Waukon. Rev. Van Nice was the officiating clergyman.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, McGregor where she was a member of the Womens' group and also helped in the church nursery.

Preceding her in death were brothers and sisters: Winnie Campbell, Fern Rose, Anna Smith, Lloyd Campbell and Judson Campbell.

Surviving are her husband, Edward Lee; a son, Keith, Postville; a daughter, Madonna Melcher, Waukon; 4 grandsons; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Arlan Melcher, Rev. Leland Wilkins, Darwin Melcher, Ralph Campbell, Jack Campbell and Shane Melcher.
