Fay Wickham

Funeral services for Fay Wickham were held Saturday, Aug. 4, 1990 at 1:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church at Castalia. Pastor Verdon Swenson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Gods Acres Cemetery at Clermont.

Fay Everett Wickham, son of Frank and Jennie (Nims) Wickham, was born May 10, 1912 in Fayette County, near Hawkeye, Iowa. He died Wednesday morning, Aug. 1, 1990 in the Good Samaritan Center, Postville, Iowa.

He was married to Lucille Jones. They had 2 children, a son, Frank and a daughter, Sharon.

On June 6, 1963 he was married to Marion (Erhardt) Kirkestue at Elgin, Iowa. Fay had a small business in Castalia [cafe/tavern] for several years. He had also been employed by the Darling Rendering Service at Alpha and Falb Motor Company in Postville. Before retiring in 1977, he had been employed by the Rock Island Railroad.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers: Clarence, Clifford, Earl and Bill Wickham, and a sister, Edna.

Surviving are his wife, Marion, a son, Frank Wickham of New Hampton, a daughter, Sharon Snitker of Waukon, 3 stepdaughters, Caroline Lansing, Des Moines, Linda Sebastian and Betty Foels, Postville; 13 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Florence Leibold, Waterloo and Mrs. Eben (Ruby) Pierce of Fredericksburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Fay was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Castalia. He enjoyed traveling and being with his family and friends.

Casket bearers were Kelly Sebastian, John Sebastian, Michael Foels, Steven Foels, Frank Wickham, Jr., Brian Snitker, Jay Lansing.
