Death of James Mullaney
We briefly mentioned last week the death of James Mullaney, which took place at Minneapolis Sunday, Oct. 20, from bronchial pneumonia. He was a traveling man and was taken sick on the road and reached the city in which he resided but a short time previous to his death.
The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Mullaney and was born at the family home three miles south-east of Waukon thirty-six years ago.
He was married several years ago to a daughter of Mrs. James Piggott of this city, who survives him. He is also survived by his mother, one brother, Thomas, and four sisters, Mrs. Slattery, Rosella, Margaret and Florence. The deceased was a bright, companionable young man and had a large number of friends who sympathize deeply with the bereaved wife, mother, brothers and sisters. The remains arrived here Tuesday forenoon and were taken to the Mullaney home in Jefferson township. After private services in St. Patrick’s church last Wednesday morning burial took place in Mount Olivet cemetery.
