Funeral services for Mrs. Gustave Wild, 70, of French Creek township, were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul's Methodist church in Waukon, the Rev. C.D. James officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Wild died Friday at her home following a long illness.

The former Alvina Dorothea Verthein, she was born March 3, 1887, in Union City township, daughter of John and Anna (Zeigert) Verthein. On Feb. 3, 1909, she married Gustave Wild in the Wheatland church.

She was a member of the French Creek Methodist church.

She is survived by her husband; three sons, Millard at home, William of Wild Paint Creek township, and Kermit of Caledonia, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Irene) Bulman of Waterloo, Ia., Mrs. William (Lucille) Krog of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Mrs. Andrew Anderson of Anaheim, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Henry Verthein of Lansing, Gustave Verthein of Brownsville, Minn., and John Verthein of Waukon; three sisters, Mrs. Bert Bulman of Waukon, Mrs. Napoleon Olander of Waterville, and Mrs. Clark Donahue of Cedar Rapids, Ia.
