Anna Belle (Hahn) Sires 1894 - 1964

SIRES, HAHN, SCHAFFER, BRITAIN, ROSENDAHL, KANNENBERG, LANE, SMITH, BULMAN

Our community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Daniel Sires Monday afternoon, August 10, 1964, at a La Crosse hospital after an illness of about four months.

She was born May 4, 1894 at Brookings, South Dakota, the daughter of John & Margaret (Schaffer) Hahn.

On September 27, 1910, she married Daniel Sires at Waukon. The couple farmed in Allamakee county until 1956 when they moved to New Albin.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church of La Crosse, Wis.

She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Gladys at home; Mrs. Otis (Lorraine) Britain and Mrs. Bennie (Lois) Rosendahl of Spring Grove, Minn.; Mrs. William (Roberta) Kannenberg of Vandalia, Mich.; and Mrs. Norman (Alpha) Rosendahl of Waukon; three sons, Calvin Sires and William Sires of New Albin; and Robert Sires of Vandalia, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Russell (Barbara) Lane of Waukon; and Mrs. Roy (Lena) Sires of Hawkeye, Ia.; one brother, Earl Hahn of New Albin; nineteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters; Mrs. Fred (Elizabeth) Smith, Mrs. Ray (Cora) Bulman, Mrs. James (Sarah) Sires and Lily Hahn; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday August 14th at 2 p.m. at the Potter-Haugen Funeral Home in Caledonia, Minn., with Rev. F.A. Sackett of Rochester, Minn., officiating. Interment was made in English Bench cemetery.

Casket bearers were Lee Rosendahl, Norval Britain, Joe Sires, Thomas Kannenberg, Daniel Britain and Herschel Sheperd.
