Arthur Joseph DeMunck Jr., 60, of New Albin, died Wednes­day, May 22, 1991 at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI.

Art was born May 22, 1931 in Sherman, SD, to Arthur and Lucy DeMunck. On February 5, 1975 he married Kay Amann in Caledonia, MN. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years af­ter which he worked as an oper­ator for the Soo Line Railroad.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; two daughters, Debra McClain, Hudson, WI, and Sue Mowery, LaCrosse, WI; two step­daughters, Sally Fink, New Al­bin, IA, and Sandra Kirby, McGre­gor, IA; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Steuch, Pipestone, MN, and Doris Hansen and Vir­ginia Bode, both of LuVerne, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Douglas Schneider.

Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, IA, Fr. Henry Charipar officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, with military rites graveside by New Albin VFW Post #5603.

Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Kirby, Michael Fink, Bob McClain, Lavern Welper, Gary Mowery, and Allen Breitbach.

Burke Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, IA, was in charge of arrangements.
