Services For Russell Lane Sr.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m. from Martin funeral home for Russell Lane Sr., 93, long time Allamakee county resident who died Friday, Aug. 6 in Waukon Veterans Memorial hospital. The Rev. Robert Schultz conducted the services and burial was in the Mount Hope cemetery.

Mr. Lane was born April 7, 1879 in Waukon and was a son of Russell and Esther Pollard Lane. He was educated in the local schools and was employed as a mail carrier and commercial fisherman.

He married Barbara Hahn in 1900 in Waukon and they were parents of seven children. Mrs. Lane preceded him in death.

Survivors are five daughters: Mrs. John (Vernie) Griffin of Waukon; Mrs. Gayle (Florence)Gantenbein, Riverton, Wyo.; Mrs. Raphael (Ardis) Teff, Marshville, N.C.; Mrs. Keith ( Jacqueline) Schroeder, Los Alamitos, Calif.; Mrs. Gilbert (Fay) Gluck, Atwater, Calif., and two sons, Russell Lane Jr. and Jesse Lane of Waukon. There are 35 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Glen Cooper, Raymond Doubek, Jack Giffin, Allan Nyberg, Randy Bernatz, and Gary Ash were pallbearers.
