Theresa Gilbert

Theresa Marie Gilbert, 79, of Arlington, TX died Monday, Feb 13, 1995 at her home.

She was born Jan. 15, 1916 in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, to John and Della (Stahl) Palmer. In 1919 the family moved to Waukon. She graduated from Waukon High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.

Feb. 15, 1941 Theresa married Harry A. Morgan of Chicago, IL at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Waukon. They lived in Chicago until 1951 when they moved to Los Angeles where Harry was employed by Northrup Aircraft Co. He died June 27, 1967 in California.

Dec. 19, 1970 she married Robert Gilbert and they continued to live in the Los Angeles area. Upon retirement, they moved to Arizona, and in 1981 moved to Arlington.

Theresa was a longtime employee in the accounting department of a Los Angeles area school district. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

Surviving are her husband, Robert of Arlington; a son, Harry C. Morgan of Lancaster, CA; a daughter, Corinne Neel of Cypress, CA; Two stepsons, Colin Gilbert of Lake Arrowhead, CA and Bill Gilbert of Ft. Worth, TX; two stepdaughters, Sherry Boone of Springfield, CO and Diane Todd of New Orleans, LA; two sisters, Felicia Dresser and Elinor Donaldson, both of Postville, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, Theresa was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson Palmer.

Funeral services were held at 1pm Thursday, Feb. 16 at the Arlington Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Hoover officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park in Ft. Worth.

ARLINGTON - Theresa Gilbert, 79, a retired accountant, died Monday at home.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Funeral Home. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Allamakee County, Iowa, and had lived in Arlington since 1981. She was a former resident of Arizona and California.

Survivors: Husband, Robert P. Gilbert of Arlington; son, Craig Morgan of Lancaster, Calif.; daughter, Corinne Neel of Cypress, Calif.; two stepsons, Colin Gilbert of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., and Bill Gilbert of Fort Worth; two stepdaughters, Sherry Boone of Springfield, Colo., and Diana Todd of New Orleans; two sisters, Felicia Dresser and Elinor Donaldson, both of Postville, Iowa; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
