Elizabeth Stall was born in Columbia County, New York, where she grew to womanhood.

She was married August 11, 1857 to Martin B. Wood. To this union were born three daughters, two of whom died in infancy.

In 1864 they moved to Allamakee, county, Iowa, where they have since resided with the exception of eight years residence in the state of Mississippi.

Since the death of her husband in June, 1905, she has made her home with her daughter Mrs. D.W. Smith of Frankville, Iowa; where she passed away April 20, 1910. Early in life she joined the M.E. church of which she has remained a faithful and consistent member.

Although an invalid for a number of years she has borne her suffering uncomplainingly, and by her gentle and loving disposition has endeared herself to all.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. D.W. Smith of Frankville, four grandchildren and other relatives and friends to mourn her departure.
