Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Steiber, 67, were held Monday afternoon from the United Methodist Church in Lansing with pastor Rev. Alvin W. Ebert officiating, and saying the final prayers at the graveside in Oak Hill Cemetery where interment was made. She passed away Friday at a Spirit Lake hospital following an illness. She had been at the home of her daughter, Phyllis, Mrs. Duane Van Kleek of Terril, since suffering a stroke at her home in Lafayette township southeast of town a couple of months ago.

She was born near Church town on November 15, 1901, a daughter of John W. Wendel and Bertha Englehorn. She was educated in the county schools and in June of 1929 was married to Raymond Steiber who preceded her in death in 1959. Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, besides the one previously mentioned, Hazel, Mrs. Harold Copenhaver, Tucson, Ariz and Mildred of Orange City and one son Harlan, on the home farm; six surviving brothers include Clarence, Howard and Kermit Wendel of Lansing and vicinity, Robert of Fairmont, Minn.; Alfred, Spring Grove and Harry, of Englewood, Fla., and seven granchildren. Besides her parents, one son died in in fancy.

Vocal selections were rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Peters accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Hanson. Serving as casket bearers were Glen, Kermit and David Wendel, Kenneth and Dale Steiber of Lansing and vicinity and George Johnson, of Elmore, Minn.
