Alvina Louise Welper 1886 - 1942

Mrs. Gustave H. Welper, 56, life-long resident of New Albin, died at a La Crosse, Wis. hospital Wednesday afternoon (01 Jul 1942) following a two week illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the St. Peter's Evangelical and Reform church with the Rev. E.J. Florin officiating. Burial will be in the New Albin cemetery.

Mrs. Welper was born in French Creek township, Feb. 27, 1886 as Alvina Louise Welper. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Welper.

She received her education in the rural schools. She was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical church at Wheatland. She was married to Mr. Welper Oct. 28, 1909 at Wheatland.

At the time of her death she held the office of recorder of the local camp, Mt. Oneota No. 2403 of the Royal Neighbors of America, which position she held for the past 22 years, and wa president of the New Albin Cemetery Association. She was also a member of the Brotherhood of America Yeoman Lodge, and a member of the Women's Guild of which she had been treasurer for many years.

Surviving are her husband; three children, Harold of La Crosse, Wis., Mrs. Alvin (Lillian) Sires of Sumner, Mrs. John (Edna) Hudachko of Chicago, Ill.; her mother, Mrs. Frieda Welper of New Albin; three sisters, Mrs. Donald (Malinda) Easton of Mabel, Minn., Mrs. George (Elsie) Fink of Viola, Wis. and Mrs. Roy (Alma) Wiebke of Caledonia, Minn.; three brothers, Martin of Rochester and Harry and Herbert of Hesper; and two grandchildren.
