Kerry Francis Moore, 56, of Lakeville, MN, died Thursday, March 18. He was born October 10, 1947 the second son of Earl and Kay Moore. He graduated from St. George HS, Lansing, IA and Winona State University. In 1975 he received his wings at Columbus Air Force Base MS. For five years he was stationed at Travis Air Force Base, CA. He then joined the California Air Guard and transferred to the Minnesota Air Guard when he made his home in the Twin Cities area. He retired as a Lt. Colonel after serving 27 years in the Guard, but continued his current employment as a pilot with Northwest Airlines.
He is survived by his wife, Robyn; daughter Brittney; parents Earl and Kay Moore, New Albin, IA; two brothers Don (Marilyn) of Caledonia, and Remi (Marti) of Ferryville, WI; three sisters Sheryl (Joel) Gilbertson of Melrose, WI, Mary (Ron) Moore of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marlene Duffy (Roger Valley of La Crosse) of Lansing; 28 nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews, many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph, grandparents Leonard and Josephine Moore, Patsy and Mary Welsh.
Kerry had a profound love of his family with his constant caring, generosity, and wanting everyone to enjoy life. His heart and home were always open. He shared his love of flying and the family farm with so many people. His magnetic personality touched the lives of people on every continent in the world.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. at White Funeral Home, Kenwood Trail, Lakeville, Tuesday, March 23. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 at the Church of the Risen Savior, Burnsville. Military internment at Ft. Snelling. Memorial Mass Sunday, March 28 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church of New Albin.
