Rev. Clyde M. E. Lee, 87, of Lincoln, NE passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006 at Bryan LGH Medical Center, Lincoln, NE. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 at First-Plymouth Congregational Church, Lincoln, NE, with Rev. Jim Keck officiating. Roper and Sons Funeral Home assisted the family with his cremation.
Clyde was born January 19, 1919 in Forest City to Simon Kristofer Hansen Lee and Martha Marie (Johnson) Lee. He went on to earn his college education at Waldorf College in Forest City and Luther College in Decorah. He was also a member of First-Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, Lincoln, NE.
Clyde was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in Africa, Italy and Ireland. He and his wife Irene were married October 31, 1945 at Norton Church in Sheffield, England. At the time of his passing, Clyde was a retired pastor, having served churches in Iowa (including New Albin), Minnesota and Nebraska. He was also a past chaplain at the Lincoln VA Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Irene E. Lee, of Lincoln, NE; one son, Rev. Craig T.M. (Diane) Lee of Alta; one daughter, Victoria A. Lee of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren Errin (Brad) Wilker of Castalia, Heather (Paul) Lenz and Stephanie (Chris) Ahles of New Albin, and Elizabeth Schoen of Lincoln, NE; and great-grandchildren Bretton and Brandon Wilker of Castalia, and Aubrie, Ashton and Evan Lenz of New Albin.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry "Hank" and Peter "Pete" Lee; and one sister, Gertrude (Russell "Butch") Richardson.
