Bernet F. Richards, 66, New Albin, died Monday, April 15, 1985, in St. Francis Medical Center, La Crosse.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1918, in Houston County to Ernest and Marie (Roth) Rich­ards. He married Gladys Middendorf on Sept. 25, 1940, in New Albin.

Richards was employed at the Bulman Farm Store in New Albin prior to his retirement. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5603. He also was a member of the New Albin Fire Departmnt and the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1016 of Sandwich, Ill.

Survivors are his wife; his mother of New Albin; four sons, Jerry and Scott, both of Sandwich, Ill., Dave of Lan­sing and Tom of New Albin; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Robert of Browns­ville, Minn., Joseph of Sun­dance, Wyo., and James of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two sisters, Harriet Peske of Minnelipos and Ruby Schoh of Waukon.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services were held Thurs­day, April 18 at 2 p.m. in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin. The Rev. Richard Waters officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Casket bearers were Robert Dresselhaus, Raymond Wha­len, Gilman Meyer, Robert Bulman, Merle Welper and Douglas Sires. Haugen-Roble funeral service of Caledonia, Minn. was in charge of arrangements.
