Elmer Mid­dendorf, 77, New Albin, died Sunday, January 9, 1985, in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon.

He was born Oct. 20, 1907, in Minne­sota to Gerhard and Caroline (Welper) Middendorf. He married Ruby Sires on April 23, 1940, in New Albin.

Prior to his retirement, Middendorf worked at Caledonia Implement Company in Caledonia, Minnesota, and had been a resident of Caledonia.

He formerly served as fire chief for the New Albin Fire Department.

Survivors are his wife; and several nieces and nephews.

Three sisters and four brothers pre­ceded him in death.

Services will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Grace United Methodist Church, New Albin, with the Rev. Thomas Mattson officiating. Burial will be in New Albin City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the New Albin Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the services.

The Haugen-Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia, is in charge of arrange­ments.
