Arlynn D. Johnson 1937-2004

Arlynn "Butch" D. Johnson, 67, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Lee Memorial Hospital, Ft. Myers, Florida, following a long illness. Services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Del Bear. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Oneida Township Cemetery in rural Clutier.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Marion; two daughters, Tracey (Christopher) Durham of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Renee (Shawn) Schuldt of Ft. Lee, Va.; his mother, Ethel Johnson of Waukon; and two grandchildren, Carson and Gabrielle Schuldt. Also surviving are his brother, Wayne (Bonnie) Johnson of Waukon; two sisters, JoAnn (John) Tangen of Dorchester, Iowa, and Gerry (Pete) Statler of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; his mother-in-law, Wilma Bowen of Cedar Rapids; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Craig) Untiedt of Branson, Mo., Doris (Warren) Holst of Cedar Rapids and Alice Bowen of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Myron, and his father-in-law, Loren Bowen.

Arlynn was born January 25, 1937, the son of Myron C. and Ethel (Kellison) Johnson in Waukon. On September 17, 1966, he married Donna Bowen in Cedar Rapids.

Arlynn served with the US Army. He worked for Globe Machinery for 17 years and Baker Wholesales for 10 years, retiring in 1984. Arlynn was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, a past member of the Eagles and a member of American Legion Post No. 298, who will perform military rites. A memorial fund has been established in Arlynn's memory.
