Betty Ann Lantgen, age 53, of Lansing, IA and formerly of Minneapolis, MN, died Saturday June 24, 2006 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, IA.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing with the Minneapolis Fire Dept Honor Guard in attendance.
Friends may call on Thursday from noon until time of services at the Thornburg Hanson Funeral Home in Lansing, IA.
Betty was born in Watertown, South Dakota, January 5, 1951.
Betty was one of the first female Fire Fighters in Minneapolis, MN. After retirement she moved to Lansing Iowa. She owned and operated the Green Tamborine Bed and Breakfast until her death.
Betty loved to ride her Harley and made many trips to Sturgis, South Dakota, and New Orleans, LA. She also had a passion for her pets. Betty was a devoted mother, sister and daughter. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A special thanks to Jeff Bechtel for the benefit held at the OP.
Survived by her husband, Tom Valentine of Lansing, IA; a daughter, Glenda Marrall of Minneapolis; her mother, LaVonne Slavicek of Brownsville, MN; six siblings: John(Audrey)Slavicek of Vandalia, OH, James Slavicek of Minneapolis, MN, Jason (Audra) Slavicek of Brownsville, MN, Joseph (Sally) Slavicek of Caledonia, MN, Jeffery Johnson of LaCrosse, WI, Marjorie (Randy) Kjos of Hokah, MN; two grandchildren: Christopher and Allysa; stepchildren: Laura Valentine of Manchester, IA, James and William Valentine of McGregor, IA, John T. and Lawrence Scheiderich of Minneapolis, MN.
Betty was preceded in death by her father Victor Lantgen, two uncles and her grandparents.
