From the April 1975 Postville Herald:

Services were held Tuesday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, for Mrs. Charles Meyer, who died Sunday, March 30 at the Good Samaritan Center, Postville. The Rev. Norman Ullestad officiated.

Louise W. was the daughter of Carl and Mary Krogman Ohloff and was born March 25, 1892 at Postville. On April 1892 she was baptized into St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville and confirmed April 8, 1906 where she remained a member. She was active in the church and LCW and especially the Women's Missionary Society.

On February 25, 1914 she was united in marriage to Charles W. Meyer and to this union five children were born.

She lived on a farm in Fayette County for 50 years, moving to Postville January 29, 1963. She suffered a stroke on August 27, 1970 and moved to the Good Samaritan Center in October 1970.

Preceding her in death were two daughters who died in infancy; her husband Charles who died in 1922; her son Willard; one granddaughter; one sister and one brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Esther and Marie of Postville, two granddaughters, Mrs. Wayne (Jean) Binfet of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and Mary Meyer of Iowa City; one great granddaughter, Marcia Binfet; two sisters: Clara Oeltjenbruns of Charles City and Redina Klinkenberg, Dubuque and one brother Charles Ohloff of Postville.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
