Margret Kelson
Funeral services for Margret Kelson were held at First United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, TX on May 3, 2006. She died April 28, 2006 of pulmonary fibrosis.
Margret was born August 11, 1929 in Postville, the daughter of Harvey and Amy (Moen) Buddenberg. She grew up on farms near Castalia and Postville, was baptized at Zion Lutheran, Castalia, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville.
She was a 1947 graduate of Postville High School, then began working in Minneapolis where she met her future husband, Robert Kelson.
They were married May 3, 1951 and began their life together in New Mexico. They returned to Minneapolis in 1953, then moved to Des Moines in 1967. When her youngest child entered grade school, Margret enrolled at Drake University where she earned a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development. She worked with parents and children through the Des Moines Public School system and the Community College until moving to Grand Prairie, TX in 1978.
In Texas she expanded her efforts to include teacher training through seminars and production of video training tapes. She was active in her church as well as the Fort Worth parenting and Guidance Center, Tarrant Co. Community College, Head Start, and Child Care Associates of Fort Worth.
Margret is survived by her husband, Robert of Grand Prairie, TX; daughter Sue, sons Steven and David, all of the Dallas-Fort Worth area; and son Jim of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Audrey (Herb) Suer of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ronald.
