RELATIVES SUSPECT FOUL PLAY IN DEATH
THINK THAT JOHN FLOWERS WAS VICTIM OF MURDER
CORONER REFUSED INQUEST
Said Old Man Was Subject to “Sinking Spells” and That it Was This That Caused His Death
Whether James Flowers met death at his home in New Albin, Ia., from natural causes or was a victim of foul play is a question that has bothered some of the relatives of the deceased. At the time he was found dead it was given out that he had died suddenly. Some of the relatives became suspicious of certain circumstances surrounding the death and demanded an investigation. The coroner, however, was disinclined to hold an inquest, he claiming that the old man was subject to “sinking spells” and that this was undoubtedly the cause of his death.
The funeral was held Monday from the Catholic church in Lansing.
