Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at La Crescent First Lutheran Church for Barthell Schuldt, 53, of 602 S. Third St., who died Thursday (10 May 1979) of an apparent heart attack.

The Rev. Melvin Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery, Brice Prairie.

Friends may call Sunday after 4 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, La Crescent, and on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.

Schuldt was born Aug. 31, 1925, in New Albin, Iowa, to William and Dora (Isackson) Schuldt, and he married Frances Barrett in La Crosse on Feb. 12, 1949.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Gittens-Leidel American Legion Post of La Crescent and the Teamsters Local 199. For 21 years he was an employee of Ray Hudson Chevrolet, and the past year was employed at Gateway Transportation.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gerald of Fruitport, Mich., and Raymond of Fort Bragg, N.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Knudtson, Mindoro, Ms. Renee Collins, La Crosse, and Mrs. Ralph (Marilyn) Burg of Caledonia; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Henry and Harry of Caledonia and Charles of Virginia Beach, Va.; and six sisters, Mrs. William (Blanche) Schaller and Mrs. Armin (Helen) Luttchens, both of New Albin, Mrs. Francis (Esther) Merry of Rochester, Mrs. Lee (Phyllis) Jensen of Minneapolis, Mrs. Norm (Evelyn) Wuennecke of Du Bois, Wyo., and Mrs. Robert (Delores) Leiss of Shawnee Mission, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
