Funeral services for Terence Peyton, age 87, of Waukon, Iowa were held Saturday May 1 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg conducting the services. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with arrangements by Hanson Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Mike Waldron, Brady Waldron, Bob Stilwell, Cody Stilwell, Jason Skogland, and Terry Peyton, who are his grandsons, and Don Baxter and Dennis Peyton, who are his nephews.
Honorary bearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kelly Peyton, Kami Peyton, Kimm Bunker, Tami Stilwell, Katy Skogland, Brianne Givens, Callie Givens, Sean Givens, Marty Peyton, Austin Bunker, Bradley Skogland, Josh Skogland, and Peyton Marie Skogland.

Terence Peyton, son of Martin and Elizabeth (Brady) Peyton, was born April 7, 1912 in Caledonia, Minnesota. On September 7, 1942 Terence married Geraldine Bresnahan at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. He lived in Winnebago Valley (New Albin area) and Waukon, Iowa. During World War II he served in the United States Army. Terence was a retired mechanic and worked for R. J. Cooney Construction in Waukon, Iowa for 33 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, American Legion, and Operators Union Local 234.

Terence Peyton died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Bill Peyton, Harry Peyton, and Earl Peyton and 2 sisters, Marie Boye, and Virginia "Tiny" Connor.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; 6 children, Jack (Marjean) Peyton of Waukon, Iowa, Bob (Darcey) Peyton of St. Paul Park, Minnesota, Pat (Dave) Stilwell, and Cheryl Waldron, all of Waukon, Iowa, Linda (Larry) Skogland of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Jenny (John) Givens of Greendale, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
