Funeral services for Leo J. "Jim" Cahalan, age 70, of Moline, Illinois were held at 9:30 a.m. September 24 at DeRoo Funeral Home in Moline, Illinois and 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, also in Moline, where he was a member. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island, Illinois, where military services were conducted by the American Legion Post #246.

Leo J. Cahalan, son of Frank and Pearl (Fay) Cahalan, was born November 4, 1920 in Postville, Iowa. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was the owner and operator of Jim Cahalan Corporation in Moline, Illinois for 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl; 5 daughters, Audrey Gorsuch of Cion, Illinois, Barbara Smith of Hampton, Illinois, Lori Moreno of Anaheim, California, Kathleen Pilichowski of Moline, Illinois and Jane Forest of Colona, Illinois; 4 sons, John Cahalan of Geneseo, Illinois, Frank Cahalan of Moline, Illinois, James Cahalan of Wheaton, Illinois, and Robert Cahalan of Highland, Illinois; 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Davis of Fridley, Michigan, Betty Burrow of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and 4 brothers, Jack Cahalan of Delhi, Iowa, George Cahalan and Joseph Cahalan, both of Lewiston, Idaho, and Paul Cahalan of Huntsville, Alabama.
