Wesley James Bangs, age 67, a resident of Essmann Island near Guttenberg, Iowa died Wednesday October 16, 1985 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.C. Lechner at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 20 at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home in Guttenberg, Iowa. Rev. Lynn Groe officiated at the burial services that afternoon in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa.

Wesley was born in Allamakee County on August 2, 1918, the son of Fred and Janet (Cavars) Bangs. Bangs was a carpenter and general laborer. He served in the Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents in 1932 who died within hours of each other very suddenly and a brother Irvin Bangs of Waukon, Iowa.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Mrs. Arkley Larson of Waukon, Iowa, 2 nieces, Mrs. Bette Tupy of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and Mrs. Shirley Lively of Stockton, California and a nephew, David Bangs of Gilbert, Iowa.
