Charles F. Kohrs

Funeral services were held for Charles F. Kohrs on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa, with Pastor Daniel Hoy presiding.

Candle bearer was Lindsay Williams; cross bearer was Haley Rottinghaus. Musicians were Mary Potter, organist, and Pat Skillings, vocalist.

Charles F. Kohrs was born September 4, 1941 in Postville, Iowa, the son of Silas and Marie (Schave) Kohrs. He married JoAnn Bobst on April 21, 1961 in Waterloo, Iowa. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1982. Charles was the Commander of the Sons of AMVETS Post 31 in Evansdale, Iowa.

Charles passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center at the age of 64. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife JoAnn. He is survived by two sons, Russell (Diane) Kohrs of Elk Run Heights, IA and Michael (Gail) Kohrs of Evansdale, IA; two daughters, Sandra (James) Sadler of Belleville, IL and Pamela (Gregory) Rottinghaus of LaPorte City, IA; 6 grandchildren, Lindsay Williams, Haley, Braxton and Emma Rottinghaus, and Peyton and Brady Kohrs; 3 brothers, Wayne (Bernie) Kohrs of Port Isabel, TX, David (Sherry) Kohrs of Cedar Falls, IA, and Randy (Nancy) Kohrs of Las Vegas, NV, and one sister, Carol (David) Dinger of Decorah, IA. Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Interment was at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Casketbearers were Cory Kohrs, Tim Kohrs, Chad Kohrs, Joe Bobst, Brian Dinger, and James Bobst. Memorials may be directed to the family. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.
