Denny Meyer

Denny C. Meyer, 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, December 22, 2005, in his home following a long illness. Services were held Tuesday, December 27, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Rev. Dan Clark-Bridges officiated. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his mother, Norma; two daughters, Dixie (Steve) Pineda of Portage, Ind., and Debra (Chad) Dzierba of Valpraiso, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Dakota and Julian Pineda, Ashley, Kristina, and Lyndie Walton, and Sarah and Chad Dzierba; and his aunt, Irene Feickert of Postville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard, and a sister, Dixie Meyer.

Denny was born July 5, 1945, in Postville, the son of Leonard and Norma (Johnson) Meyer. In 1963 he graduated from Postville High School. He served in the US Navy for three years and worked for 31 years for ADM in boiler maintenance. Denny enjoyed gardening, gambling, puzzles, and taking care of his cars. He collected wolf and deer pictures, enjoyed watching sports on television, NASCAR, and spending time with his dog Lacey.
