On the 21st inst., Mr. James Hinchon, of this city, father of Mr. John Hinchon, principal of our public school, was mustered into the ranks of the "silent sleepers," after having attained the remarkable age of 93 years.

The deceased had been ailing for about four years, but yet he bore up under his infirmities of old age with wonderful fortitude. He has been a resident of the county for about 24 years, and was quite well known among the Irish portion of our citizens.

The remains were buried in Paint Rock Cemetery and were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of friends.
