NEY, WENIGER, DUNNING, RATHBONE, MADSEN, GRANZOW, KRAMER

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Ney were held Friday afternoon from her home on the west townline road at Waukon to the Methodist Church, with the Rv. F. Weniger of Minneapolis, a brother of the deceased and the Rev. H.C. Culver officiating. The services were largely attended and a great number of floral bouquets were to be seen, many of them made up of flowers grown at the Ney home which she had so carefully cultivated.

Mrs. Ney passed away Wednesday morning in her home after an illness of several months. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weniger, Bertha Weniger was born near Eastman, Wisconsin on November 10, 1860 and was 81 years of age at the time of her passing.

On September 22, 1881, she was married to John Ney at Prairie du Chien. He preceded her in death in January, 1895 [sic].

Mrs. Ney was a very capable woman, displaying much industry and ability in all of her work. She was a member of the Methodist Church and lived the life of a good Christian.

Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Ney, two of whom survive, Mrs. Frank Dunning and Otto Ney, both of Waukon. Those who preceded their mother in death were Mrs. Stuart Rathbone, Mrs. Arthur Madsen, and Mrs. E.F. Granzow. Other survivors ae a brother, Rev. F. Weniger of Minneapolis, and a sister, Mrs. Eli Kramer of Eastman, Wisconsin, and six grandchildren.
