Death, the unwelcome visitor, in his silent march through the world, has spread his black mantle over the household of John Guider, of Lafayette township, taking therefrom the estimable wife of Mr. Guider, a woman most dearly beloved by a large circle of relatives and friends, among whom she has resided for the past 22 years.

Mrs. Guider died last Monday night, of typhoid-pneumonia, from which she had been ailing but a few days.

The deceased was born in County Tipperary, Parish of Temple Twohy. She came to American in 1848; was married to Mr. Guider in Cincinnati.

She was 52 years of age, and for 25 years her home has been in Iowa, 22 of which have been spent in this county, thus making her one of the pioneer settlers. She came of one of the best families in Ireland and her parents were quite wealthy, bestowing upon her a good education which, with her gentle, amiable and pleasant manner, made her a woman to be revered among those with whom she associated.

Mr. Guider is almost heart-broken at the loss of her who has son bravely fought by his side the battle of life, and who, like himself, was now in a position to enjoy the fruits of years of patient toil.

Four grown up children are also left to mourn the death of her who has been to them a devoted and affectionate mother. And not only does the weeping family feel her loss, but the entire community is in sorrow over the affliction.

The funeral take place to-day at Wexford, in accordance with the rites of the Catholic Church, of which she was a most faithful and consistent member.
