Rites For Mrs. Sophie Renk

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3 at 2 p.m. from St. John’s United Church of Christ, Wheatland, for Mrs. Sophie Renk, 82, of New Albin. The Rev. Clyde Lee will be the officiating minister and interment will be in the church cemetery. Potter-Haugen funeral home in Caledonia, Minn., will be in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Renk, who was a resident at Northgate Manor in Waukon for a time, died Monday, June 30 in Waukon Veterans Memorial Hospital. She was born April 21, 1887 in Union City township and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kurk.

October 8, 1908 she married Henry Renk in St. John’s United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death. Survivors are a son Roy of New Albin, six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Renk of New Albin and Mrs. Rosina Renk, who is a resident at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. A daughter Velma preceded her mother in death.
