Nadine K. Szabo, 67, of Perkins Pavilion in Hastings, Neb., died Friday, September 23, 2005, at Perkins Pavilion. Graveside services were held Friday at the Garden of Tranquility, Cedar Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. William Harnish officiating. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nadine was born December 9, 1937, to Oliver and Viola (Hansen) Snitker in Waukon. She graduated from Waukon Senior High in 1956.

June 1, 1957, she married Dayle D. Szabo. They had one son, Jason. She lived most of her life in Marion and Cedar Rapids. She worked at Rockwell Collins and Mercy Medical Center. Nadine loved animals and worked as a pet groomer. She loved to play cards, garden, and go fishing with her husband. Nadine moved to Hastings after her husband died in 2002.

Survivors include her son, Jason, and his fiancee, Lynn Upchurch; a granddaughter, Abby of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Jerry (Eddie) Snitker of Hastings, Neb.; and a sister, Mary Lynn (Joe) Jenkins of Waukon. Nadine will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
