LYCURGAS

The burial of Mrs. Ferdinand Haas of Lansing took place Thursday at the St. Mary's church. Mrs. Haas was a former resident of our community, having sold her farm, and lived at Lansing for the last sixteen years. All of her old time friends were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Katherine Haas of this city passed away at her home Tuesday at 1 o'clock. Her illness was heart trouble. Deceased was born in Freesenheim, Amtlag, Baden, Germany, Sept. 11, 1827, and came to this country in 1877 and was married to Ferdinand Haas of St. Louis, February 25, 1879. He (sic) lived in this place for over fifty-three years.

Five daughters and four sons are left to mourn the loss. The funeral took place at the Catholic church here, Rev. G.L. Haxmeier officiating. The interment took place at the Lycurgus cemetery Thursday morning.
