Jean Richter
Jean Belvel Richter of Mission Viejo, Calif., passed away Monday, August 29, 2005, in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., at the age of 81.
Jean was born in Waukon, Iowa, in 1924. She spent most of her professional life in New York City employed in domestic and international broadcasting. She was a volunteer for and later an employee of The Republican Party.
She was fond of saying that “she was blessed to have had such a full and productive life with so many satisfying challenges along with many good friends and a loving and supportive family”.
Jean’s humor, insatiable curiosity, and interest in world events never left her and was with her until her death.
Her hobby was purebred Tabby cats. She was a cat fancier and raised and showed many beautiful cats that won several awards.
She never married and is survived by two brothers, Don E. Woodard of Fort Collins, Colo., and George B. Richter of Ely, Nev., along with five nieces, one nephew, and their families. She also left behind her beloved Nelson, a 1971 Chevrolet Camaro.
A private service was held September 4, 2005, at sea on a beautiful sunny day off the coast of Southern California.
