Waukon, Ia., June 15 - Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Monson, pioneer settler of this vicinity, who died Thursday evening at the home of her daugher, Mrs. Edward Richards, will be held Monday at the Lutheran church at Iowa River, with burial in the Iowa River cemetery.

Mrs. Monson was born in Bergen, Norway, June 30, 1848, and was married to Mons Monson April 24, 1872, at Sunds, Norway. She came to America in June 1872, shortly after her marriage.

She is survived by the following children: Theodore Monson of St. Paul, Minn.; Martin Monson of Caledonia, Minn.; Mrs. Carrie Thompson of Lake Mills, Ia.; and Mrs. Clara Richards of Waukon.
